HTML contentIpamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue (GHS) that selectively stimulates growth hormone release from the anterior pituitary gland. Developed as a third-generation GHS, Ipamorelin was designed to maximize GH-releasing potency while minimizing off-target hormonal effects.
Ipamorelin binds to the GHSR-1a (ghrelin receptor) on somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary, triggering intracellular calcium signaling cascades that stimulate GH vesicle exocytosis. Unlike other GH secretagogues such as GHRP-6 and GHRP-2, Ipamorelin does not significantly stimulate ACTH, cortisol, or prolactin release at GH-stimulating doses.
